Looks like Justin Bieber is wiling to laugh off the controversy surrounding those weed smoking photos.
Bieber has reportedly given "Saturday Night Live" writers the go-ahead to spoof him in a weed smoking skit when he hosts the show on Feb. 9, according to TMZ. Sources close to the 18-year-old star say that nothing is off limits and Bieber is fine with the producers pushing him as far as they want.
Bieber confirmed his new of hosting gig to fans:
Entertainment Weekly writer Erin Strecker says she thinks the appearance is a "great idea" in the wake of the pot controversy.
Bieber's "got a none-scandal to laugh off; he can make fun of his Grammy snubs that he obviously really cares about; sometimes-girlfriend Selena Gomez can join him for a surprise cameo and duet with Bieber on Taylor Swift's 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' or something else silly," Strecker wrote.
ABC News confirmed Bieber will do double duty on "SNL" Feb. 9: hosting the show and performing as the musical guest. Others who have taken on the challenge include Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Mick Jagger, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.
The Feb. 9 appearance will be Bieber's first big face-to-face with the public since photos surfaced of him smoking an alleged blunt while at a party in a Newport Beach hotel room on Jan. 2.
TMZ first published the weed smoking photos, sparking a firestorm of controversy since paparazzo Chris Guerra was killed days prior to the party while attempting to get a photo of the singer. Guerra claimed he had seen Bieber smoking pot, but Bieber's camp denied the allegations.
